Iceland – Contrasts in Nature
I can clearly remember how strongly I felt the first time I ventured into the interior of Iceland. In the old days people feared the highlands because they were so unknown. I can relate to that feeling, since I felt very small indeed faced with the vastness and barrenness of these areas. But at the same time I had this strong feeling of connection and oneness with something greater than myself. A feeling of pure love. This feeling is what drives me to photograph. I don’t think I can make a good photograph without it.
